Privacy policy.
How we handle the personal information you share with us.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we collect the details you provide: your name, email address and message, and optionally your company name and phone number.
The server that receives the form also reads your IP address to limit repeated submissions. It is used for that check only and is not stored with your enquiry.
If you accept analytics on the privacy notice, Vercel Web Analytics records which pages are viewed and a few actions, such as tapping the phone number or sending the form, and Vercel Speed Insights records how quickly pages load. These are aggregated counts, they set no cookies, and they run only after you accept.
To protect the enquiry form from automated senders, it uses Vercel BotID. When you send the form, BotID collects bot-detection signals from your browser, such as whether the visit looks automated, and we check them before the enquiry is accepted. This is a security control, so it runs whether or not you accept analytics. It sets no cookies.
For data destruction and eWaste services, we record asset details (item type, model, serial number) as part of our certified chain-of-custody documentation. This is a service requirement, not website analytics.
Why we collect it
We use your details solely to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes you have asked for, and deliver the services you engage us for. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing lists without your consent.
How we hold it
Enquiries from the form arrive as email. We hold them in our business email system, the same place as any email you send us directly.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and to meet our record-keeping obligations. Certified destruction records are retained for the period required by the relevant service and compliance standards, and that period is set out in your service documentation.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. You can also ask us to delete it, and we will unless we are required to keep it.
To make a request, email contact@gentex.au or call +61 3 4328 2761 during business hours. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, write to us at contact@gentex.au and tell us what happened. We will acknowledge your complaint and give you a written response within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
